Doggone Good yard sale this weekend
WESTFIELD — The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue’s 11th annual Doggone Good Yard Sale will be Frday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon at the rescue, 7540 N. Gale St.
Items are priced to sell and all funds help out the dogs. The rescue will once again be selling tickets with two tables of baskets that include $300 in lottery tickets, gas gift cards and themed baskets. New this year will be the Foodies Sweets N Eats food truck.
The shelter has a big Morton building and a pavilion filled with items available fof sale as well as a 20-foot by 30-foot tent to put in the back yard too. There are antiques, furniture, jewelry, purses, glassware, dishes, pet supplies, all kinds of kitchen items, tools, luggage, home repair things like light fixtures, window blinds, plumbing, electrical, etc., garden, camping, sporting, linens of all sorts, artwork, puzzles, children’s toys.

CIAO plans annual meeting, picnic
The Chautauqua Italian American Organization annual meeting and picnic will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Silver Creek Ballpark Pavilion. To access the pavilion from Route 20, enter the village and turn left at the Anderson Lee Library and Silver Creek Optical driveway. Proceed down the hill to pavilion. If you are entering via Route 5, go to light and turn right, proceed to library and Silver Creek Optical driveway, past the post office, proceed down the hill.
Members are asked to bring a dish to pass (appetizer, salad, dessert, or your favorite recipe). Water, coffee will be provided as well as place settings. As always members are welcome to take food home, but YOU must bring your own containers.
You can bring your non-alcoholic beverage if you wish as long as it is not in a glass bottle.
Reservations are required by Aug. 5 and someone from the club will call you for your reservation and what dish you are planning on bringing.

Kingdom Kids Camp seeks

Kingdom Kids Camp Needs kids is looking to pay for 12 children to go to a Bible based camp for those ages 7 to 11. This will be on a first-come, first-serve, basis. This camp was started eight years ago by Evie Sievert and her husband Bruce along with some friends.
The camp was put on hold for two years due to the pandemic and other reasons. The children they had aged out. We are having to start all over again. Tis camp is for kids so cannot afford the many camps that are too much money.
The camp is also in need of a Christian female and male coubselors to help with the children. If you or any one you know like to work with children, contact sievert@yahoo.com.
Bills Booster Club gathers Sunday
The Southern Tier Bills Booster Club will hold a general meeting on Sunday at Point Gratiot in Dunkirk starting at 1 p.m. Members are asked to bring their own seating and refreshments. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided after the meeting. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held at the Dom Polski Club.
United Senior Council to meet Aug. 10
LAKEWOOD — The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Lakewood Community Park, 533 E. Terrace Ave., Lakewood. Attendees should bring a dish to pass, their own table service, their drink and a white elephant gift. Two meat dishes will be provided.
