Reunion celebration

starts Thursday

Members of the 1968 graduating Classes from Cardinal Mindszenty and Dunkirk High Schools will begin a two-day celebration of their 55th Class Reunion at the City of Dunkirk Music on the Pier on Thursday. Music will begin at 5:25 p.m. with music by the local band The Freeze followed by Freedom Road – a John Cougar Mellencamp Tribute Band from Cleveland, beginning at 6:45. This is billed as Classic Rock Night. Class members and guests should look for the Class of 1968 sign or ask at the beer tent for the event location on the pier. No cost and no reservations required.

Mindszenty All-Alumni reunion Aug. 5

Cardinal Mindszenty High School All-Alumni reunion will be Saturday, Aug. 5. The event will take place at the Dunkirk Elks Club on Central Avenue. Starting time will be 6:30 p.m. No food will be served though there will be cash bar and a monetary donation collected to be donated to Northern Chautauqua Catholic School to help defray the costs of tuition.

Sunday barbecue

in Forestville

FORESTVILLE — On Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. until sold out, St. Rose of Lima Church will be having its Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue with homemade sides. A basket raffle is back along with pull tabs! Eat in with air conditioning, outside under a tent, or take-out. The cost is $15 and is at the hall, 11 Center St.
