Dash for Cash tickets with a theme of Kickoff for Kindness are available for a limited time as a fund-raiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County. Tickets are $25 each and drawings will be held on two different days. On Aug. 31, there will be an Early Bird Prize of $500. A second drawing will be Thursday, Sept. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk. The purchase allows for the ticket holder and guest to attend the Clarion event for appetizers. Only 500 tickets will be sold and checks need to be made payable to the BGC of NCC. For more information, call 716-785-1053. Veterans 4 Christ plan brunch

At 10 a.m. Saturday, Veterans 4 Christ will muster for a brunch that is provided for free for veterans and their guest. There is a special guest speaker coming to the brunch. This person will have information that will be of interest for all veterans and their families.

The brunch is held at Tri-Church Parish, 41 E. Main St.

12-countywide veteran, family picnic set

The Veterans One-stop Center and UnitedHealthcare will sponsor a 12-countywide veteran and family picnic on Sept. 2 at the National Warplane Museum, 3489 Big Tree Lane, Geneseo from 1 to 6 p.m. There will be free food, music and fun. Parking is free. The event features free raffles including two vintage airplane rides, two giant Jenga games and a fishing charter for four. There will be bounce houses, crafts, field games and more. Gowanda Moose plans lacrosse fund-raiser

GOWANDA — Gowanda Moose Lodge 1382, located at 201 Aldrich St., will host a fund-raiser for the Gowanda Lacrosse Team on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 7 to 11 p.m. The event includes food, basket raffles and live music by Second Time Around.
