Farm Market closed this week

This week only, the Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be closed due to the Fredonia Farm Festival. The market will resume normal operations on Sept.2.

Murray Post Auxiliary meets again Monday

The John T. Murray Post 1017 Auxiliary recently met at the post in Dunkirk. President Pat Rabb presided over the meeting.

A letter was going out on what the auxiliary is planning and dues. A special for life membership, for members at least a year was included. Please note this must be paid by Oct. 1 in full to take advantage.

A meatloaf dinner will be held in October. Take-outs only will be available with date to be announced. Tickets will be at the Post this month. Donation is $12 or call Rabb for tickets at 716-341-1328. A complete meal will include salad, bread, mashed potatoes, vegetable, meatloaf, gravy and dessert.

It was voted and passed that the next meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Please contact president if you are unable to attend any meeting.

The auxiliary is accepting applications for membership — male and those 16 and older are included. Members must be a mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, brother or sister of a service person who served in an overseas war. Please contact the president or stop in at the post. Must have a copy of the dd214, and all parts must be filled in with dues of $30. The auxiliary new membership dues along with regular dues will be going up in 2024.

A VA baby shower will be in Little Valley in October. Members are working on handmade baby items to be taken. Anyone who would be interested in donating new items should contact Rabb.

The auxiliary will also be getting snacks for the Honor Flight to Washington also in October. It also will be collecting items for the Blue Star Moms for their Christmas boxes in November with more information to follow.

Fall Fest planning underway

FORESTVILLE — The Forestville Fall Festival is accepting vendor applications for this years craft show. The festival is on Oct. 7 and 8. The event is located in the High School gym. The spaces are 10 by 10 and the cost for both days is $40 for inside and $35 for outside. There are a limited number of electric sites available. Applications are available on the Forestville Fall Festival web site or by calling Carol at 716-965-2675 or Carol at 716-965-4262.
