Lake Shore Center for the Arts plans Open Mic session
The Lake Shore Center for the Arts, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield, will hold an Open Mic session on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 3 to 4 p.m. Attendees can share their poetry, prose or music selection, five minutes each and can bring their books or CDs to sell. All skill levels are welcome. Listeners are welcome as well.
Trustee plans W(h)ine time meeting
Trustee Jon Espersen will be holding another W(h)ine time and meet the candidate event on Wednesday Oct. 4 at 4:30 p.m. at 64 on the Rocks located at 64 W. Main St. With the election fast approaching this will be an excellent opportunity to ask a candidate his position on any topic that concerns you.
Become a better informed voter before making a decision that will impact the village for four years.
Bring questions, comments, concerns and suggestions on the best way forward for this village we call home. Espersen will be joined by other candidates for office.
Plaque ceremony for Reed Saturday
SHERIDAN — A plaque will be placed on the gravesite of Congressman Daniel A. Reed commemorating his 40 years of service to our country in the U.S. House of Representatives. The plaque will be dedicated Saturday in a ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. in the Sheridan Cemetery on Center Road. A reception will follow in the Sheridan historical Society building. All are welcome.
SINCLAIRVILLE — Local author Dawn Swanson, the director of the Kennedy Free Library, will visit the Sinclairville Free Library on Thursday at 6 p.m. to introduce her new children’s book, “Charlotte, The Very Good, Very Naughty Girl.” She will read from her new book to any children present, and there will be crafts available based on events of the book. The author will answer questions about her writing process and the publication of her book. The books will be available for purchase and signing by the author. Hardcover copies are $26.95, paperbacks are $15.95, and the book is also available as an Ebook for $9.99.
