Blessing of Pets is Sunday
All pets are welcome to attend the Blessing of the Pets in honor of St. Francis. The blessing will take place on Sunday, Oct. 1 outside the front door of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church on 14 W. Fourth St. in Dunkirk at 12:30 p.m., after the 11 a.m. service.
St. Francis is well-known for having renounced his father’s wealth and all earthly possessions. He took up the mission to do the work of the Lord, healing the sick, reaching out to the needy, and caring for all God’s creatures.
