Family breakfast set for Sunday

Forest Lodge 166 F&AM will be holding its monthly Sunday Family Breakfast, on Oct. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French Toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Due to rising cost of food, adults and teenagers 13 and up will now be $11, Children 5 to 12 will remain $5. Kids under 5 are always free.

This breakfast is open to the public, and everyone is welcome and cordially invited to attend. Anyone with interests in, or has questions about Free Masonry will be given a tour of the building at the asking. Forest Lodge is located at 321 E. Main St., Fredonia.

Women of Distinction Gala is Oct. 19

CHAUTAUQUA — The Women of Distinction Gala will take place on Thursday Oct. 19 at Chautauqua Institution’s Athenaeum Hotel, 3 South Lake Drive. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. and the dinner and awards ceremony begins at 7 p.m. The Master of Ceremonies will be Doc Hamels, host of Chautauqua Sunrise.

Legion Auxiliary planning dinner

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Auxiliary Unit 62 is sponsoring a Swiss Steak Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Post 62, 211 Central Ave., dine in or take out. Dinner includes swiss steak, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, vegetable, roll and homemade desserts by auxiliary members. Tickets are $15, presale only, and are available at the Post.

Proceeds benefit local veterans and legion programs.

Trunk-or-Treat event is Oct. 29

WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church Sunday School is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat Sunday, Oct. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will be rain or shine at West Portland Baptist Church for food, games, prizes, crafts, treats, and pumpkin decorating! Bring the whole family in costume for a free evening of good, clean fun! The church is located at 7081 East Route 20.

Stop 22 Walk is Saturday

SILVER CREEK — The Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472 will be the starting point for a Stop 22 Walk-a-Thon sponsored by the Auxiliary of the post and assisted by the auxiliary of the Sheridan VFW post 6390. The walk is scheduled for Saturday with registration beginning at 9 a.m.

At 10 a.m., walkers will proceed through the village for a walk lasting approximately 22 minutes, to symbolize the 22 American Military Veterans we lose across the country to suicide every day. The walk will end back at the post, on North Main Street in Silver Creek.

Everyone is encouraged to participate, walk and make signs to show our veterans that we care. A donation of $1 will be collected from each walker and will go toward Veteran Suicide Prevention.

Card event set for Sinclairville

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library at 15 Main St. is making special greeting cards on Monday at 5:30 p.m. This program is for ages 10 and up.

A fee of $5 will cover the cost of all materials to create three different cards with instruction provided by Amanda Verlini. Sons of American Revolution meet

STOCKTON — The Chautauqua Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the Stockton Hotel. Members will order lunch from the menu. Anyone interested in the War for Independence is welcome to attend. Spouses are also welcome.

Family Search Club meets

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Family Search Club will meet on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St. The meeting is open to anyone interested in family research and the purpose of the club is to help one another with research. All are welcome to attend whether you are a novice or an experienced researcher.
