candidates to debate

The League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County invites the public to meet and question the candidates for Fredonia village trustee at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Fredonia Opera House. The candidates are: Michael Barris, David Bird, Ben Brauchler, Jon Espersen, James Lynden and Paul Wandel. All will be present at the event.

Questions may be submitted before the event by emailing meetthecandidates20@gmail.com or calling 716-679-5227. Written questions will also be collected from the audience at the event. It is hoped that the Meet the Candidates forum will attract a lively audience. As always, these events are free and open to the public.

Pantry drive

begins Monday

The Feeding Fredonia Challenge runs from Monday to Oct. 27. Non-perishable food may be dropped off at area businesses and organizations displaying the Fredonia Food Challenge posters or at Fredonia Presbyterian Church, 219 Central Ave. The food drive supports the Fredonia Food Pantry.
