Meat party planned for Saturday
SILVER CREEK – A meat party will be held Saturday at the Silver Creek VFW on Main Street starting at 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served with a cash bar. This is for Department of New York State Commander Dan Kell and Department president Rose Cooper. There will be a donation of $5, which includes a Chinese auction sheet. Meat is from Sloan markets.
United Senior Council
to gather Nov. 9
The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Chautauqua Center, 107 Institute St., Jamestown. The speaker will be Jeanne Wiebenga, who will present a program on ospreys in the area and will share some beautiful photographs. A Christmas party will be held Thursday, Dec. 14. More information will be coming soon.
Bake sale set for Election Day
SHERIDAN – The Sheridan Historical Society will hold a bake sale at its open house on Election Day, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A variety of homemade desserts will be available for purchase at the Historical Society building at Route 20 and Center Road.
In addition, the winners of two quilts made by a member will be drawn at 3 p.m. Tickets for the quilts are $2 each or 3 for $5 and are currently available from any member of the Historical Society as well as at the bake sale.
Please remember to vote, and stop by the Historical Society for a nice treat.
Turkey Party planned
for Saturday
BROCTON – The Brocton Fire Co. will hold its annual Turkey Party on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. in the Brocton American Legion, 110 W.Main St. Turkeys, hams, steaks, shrimp and more will be raffled off as well as many door prizes! Organizers are also selling tickets for a special raffle for a few Bills and Sabres Jerseys! Free admission to the event that includes refreshments.
