Dunkirk to perform ‘Matilda Jr.’ next weekend
Dunkirk City School District students in grades four to eight will be performing the musical “Matilda Jr.,” at the Intermediate School auditorium located at 525 Eagle St. The show dates and times are Nov. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available on-line at dunkirkcsd.seatyourself.biz with a limited number available at the door the days of the show. There will be concessions and fundraisers at the show to help support future musicals.
Food Pantry open on
Nov. 18
On Saturday, Nov. 18, The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, ZIP code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.
Beekeepers Association
to meet
JAMESTOWN – The Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at the Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave,. in Jamestown. November generally closes out the beekeepers’ calendar, with the hope that diligently following good husbandry practices throughout summer will see the hive through winter’s worst.
At this meeting, late season activities such as harvesting the fall flow at the club’s apiary, final mite control and general hive winterization will be discussed. The meeting will also feature an informal tasting of the various honeys which club members have produced. Members so inclined are also encouraged to bring a one pound jar or two to swap. The meeting is open to the public free of charge.

Almost, Maine rescheduled
in Gowanda
GOWANDA – The postponed production of Almost, Maine at Gowanda High has been rescheduled. This free senior preview will now be Friday, Nov. 17 , at 1 p.m. with two free evening performances open to the general public on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 17 and 18,, at 7 p.m.
