Fire board meets Dec. 28

PORTLAND – The Board of Commissioners of the Portland Fire District will hold the year end reconciliation meeting for the purpose of review of the fiscal year 2023 books and any other business on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Portland Fire District, 6481 West Main St.

Congregation plans Sunday caroling

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua, located at 222 Temple St., Fredonia, holds a Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building. Handicapped parking is located directly behind the second building.

The theme for December is Mystery. On Sunday, the group will gather briefly at our meeting house to light our chalice and share our joys and concerns. Then all who are able will go caroling around the neighborhood. Those who would rather stay indoors can socialize at the meeting house until we return to enjoy hot beverages and cookies.
