Barbecue, can drive set for

The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name society will be hosting a Weidner’s drive-through chicken BBQ and can drive on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in the Blessed Mary Angela Social Center at 324 Townsend Street in Dunkirk from 4 to 6 p.m.

The dinner will include a 1/2 grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, a roll and butter. The Holy Name Society will also be accepting your deposit cans and bottles, just drive around the back of the social center and we will be glad to unload your vehicle.

The donation for the dinner is $15 and tickets are available after weekend Masses at the Church of St. Hyacinth and the Church of St. Hedwig, at Big Ricks on Lake Shore Drive East and the Family Parish Office at 1030 Central Ave. (Holy Trinity Church) Dunkirk. Organizers cannot guarantee tickets available at the door and ask those interested to pick up pre-sale tickets as soon as possible!

All proceeds will go toward much needed sidewalk replacement at both churches. Blessed Mary Angela is a member of Our Lord’s Vineyard Family of Parishes.

Amateur Radio Club elects

The Northern Chautauqua Amateur Radio Club, Inc. has elected the officers for 2024. Elections were at the Jan. 11 general meeting in Dunkirk.

Elected to serve are: President Jose Nieves, KU4Y; Vice President Dan Hice, AD2GL; Treasurer: “Chip” Riewaldt, KC2LFV; Secretary: Vacant; Scott Mackay, W7GSM, Paul Fafinski, KD2WBC, and Mike Perry, N2COD were chosen as board members.

The Northern Chautauqua Amateur Radio Club meets every second Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Fredonia Technology Incubator Building, 214 Central Ave., in the Video Conference Room on the second floor. The meeting is handicapped accessible with an elevator to the second floor. Anyone interested in radio is invited to attend meetings.
