Sinclairville library wins grant
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library is pleased to announce that its library has received a grant through the Pilcrow Foundation’s Children’s Book Project. The grant, which is given on a two-to-one matching basis, supplies small rural libraries with new hardcover children’s books. The library’s required contribution of $400 will be raised by a Read-a-thon from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3. The Pilcrow Foundation’s 2-to-1 matching grant will enable the library to select $1,200 worth of books from the Foundation’s booklist.
Please visit the library or contact us at 716.962.5885 to sponsor a reader or pick up a sponsorship form to participate in the Read-a-thon and help raise the library’s contribution. Book plates will be placed in each new book acknowledging every participating individual’s donation. Refreshments will be offered during the Read-a-thon, and prizes will be awarded.
The Pilcrow Foundation offers this grant to small rural libraries in the country that would not otherwise be able to acquire these books because of limited budgets. The Foundation relies heavily on individual donations. All contributions to the Pilcrow Foundation are tax-deductible. For information on donating to the Foundation, write to The Pilcrow Foundation, 343 E. Washington Avenue, Cottage Grove, Oregon, 97424.
