Torch relay
planned for Monday

GOWANDA — The Empire State Winter Game Torch Relay returns to Gowanda Central School District on Monday and the community is encouraged to cheer on the Panthers during the outdoor portion.
Students in fourth grade through 12th grade will participate in the indoor leg of the relay from approximately 8:15 to 9 a.m. They will jog through the halls taking turns carrying the torch while being cheered on by their peers and staff.
For the outdoor leg of the relay, student-athletes from the middle and high school will jog from the elementary school to the Community Bank branch in the village (Aldrich Street to West Main Street) from approximately 9 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Community members are welcome to line the Aldrich and West Main Street to root for our student runners.

Auxiliary launches membership drive
WESTFIELD — Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is launching its 2024 Membership Drive. The auxiliary endeavors to continue providing the hospital with funding to support equipment and services. If you have received your new membership card we encourage you to mail it back. If you wish to become a new member please contact Tina Winslow, Membership Chairperson, at 716-581-3361, or any Auxiliary board member.
The auxiliary’s 2023 projects included: Christmas decorations throughout the Hospital , blood pressure screenings, and donations for hospital landscaping. Financing for the above projects was made possible by community support of the following projects: annual Membership Drive, Shred-It event, quilt raffle, Lottery Tree raffle, and sales of ornaments and magnets.
The auxiliary thanks you for your continued support. We will continue our support towards providing the best possible experience for all who use the services WMH provides.
