Beekeepers group meets Feb. 8
JAMESTOWN — The Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will hold its monthly membership meeting on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave. The meeting will feature timely roundtable discussions of critical seasonal apiary management duties such as assessing winter stores, winter feeding and purchasing bees.
Nominations of willing candidates for the 2024-25 offices of President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, will also be entertained. The slate of candidates thus promulgated will be voted on at the club’s March 14 membership meeting. This meeting is open to the public free of charge. Beginners are especially welcome. Previous experience in beekeeping, while helpful, is not necessary. In the event of traveler’s advisories, this meeting will be postponed. Pancake
breakfast planned
for Saturday
WESTFIELD — Westfield United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall will host a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The menu includes: pancakes, sausage, sausage and gravy over biscuits, a variety of fruit, coffee, tea and juice. The fee is a freewill donation.
