Post 62 Auxiliary meeting set for Tuesday
Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary monthly meeting will be Tuesday at Post 62, 211 Central Ave. Girls State Interviews will be held prior to the meeting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at approximately 7. Auxiliary members are encouraged to participate in selecting the 2024 Girls State representative. New members are always welcome.
Sons of Legion meet next week
BROCTON — The Sons of the American Legion, Squad 434 Brocton, will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday. The meeting is at the Brocton Legion starting at 7 p.m. Plans for the Chili cook off to be held on Feb. 18 and the Solar eclipse party from April 6 to 8, will be discussed. All members are encouraged to attend.
‘Chautauqua Rails’ author plans presentations
The author of “Good Soles: Chautauqua Rails to Trails Namesakes and Trailblazers,” Wendy Lewellen, will be holding two book presentations this week.
The first will be today at 5 p.m. at the Patterson Library in Westfield. Books will be available for purchase after the 45-minute presentation and discussion. On Saturday, she is privileged to present at the Bemus Point Library at 11 a.m. The book is available for purchase any day the library is open.
Please consider a small donation to both libraries as 100% of the book donation goes straight to Chautauqua Rails to Trails, not to the author.
Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal
GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, at Erie Avenue and Park Street, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. The menu is pulled pork sandwich, scalloped potatoes,applesauce, vegetable and a cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is March 11.
