Dayton plans hearing

on solar law

DAYTON — The Town Board will hold a public hearing at the Dayton Town Hall, 9100 Route 62, Wednesday, Feb. 21 to hear all interested parties and citizens regarding the adoption of proposed Local Law 1 titled “Six-Month Moratorium on the Development, Approval and/or Permitting of any Solar Energy System in the Town of Dayton.” The hearing may be adjourned from time to time as necessary. Further information, including access to a copy of said proposed Local Law, may be obtained at the Dayton Town Clerk’s Office, 9100 Route 62.

Chicken barbecue

set for March 10

On Sunday, March 10, the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School will be hosting a drive-through chicken barbecue at Holy Trinity Church, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk, from noon to 3 p.m. Dinner includes: half chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and a vegetable. Tickets are $15 each and are available through a school family.

History Fair planning

begins Saturday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The planning group for this year’s Sinclairville History Fair will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St. Anyone interested in helping in any way, to plan or work at the fair is invited to attend. This is the 25th annual History Fair and we want it to be special.

Winter walk,

campfire planned

The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy will hold a winter walk/snowshoe and campfire gathering at its Cassadaga Creek Wetland Preserve in Sinclairville on Saturday, Feb. 24. The event is free and open to the public and will start at 5:30 p.m., with the walk/snowshoe starting at 6 p.m.

Attendees can opt to remain by the campfire and socialize during the walk time. After the walk, all are invited to stay and warm up by the fire and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, and s’mores.

Attendees are also welcome to bring their own beverage and a snack or snack to pass if desired as well as a chair for sitting around the fire. RSVPs are appreciated and can be made by calling 716-664-2166, ext. 1001 or emailing info@chautauquawatershed.org.
