Centaur Stride training volunteers

SHERMAN — Do you love horses and always wanted to learn more? Centaur Stride received a grant from the Lake Shore Saving and Loan Community Grants to help train volunteers.

If you are over 13 years old, able to lift 25 pounds, and independent in walking and life skills, you can register. The next class starts on Saturday, March 23 from 11:30 to 1 p.m. at Centaur Stride, 8488 Jones Road. Call (716) 326-4318 to register.

Class size is limited to four people. It will run for four consecutive weekly lessons (and make-up session if you are out of town during Easter week). There is a registration fee of $50 per person and that covers four lessons on horsemanship, both on and off the horse, as well as an overview of therapeutic horseback riding and what roles you can take to help us work with our horses and riders, or fundraising. If you cannot make it to this class, please call and register anyway. We would be happy to schedule more classes.

Towel Bingo gets great support

BROCTON — The Ladies of the Brocton Preceptor Beta Epsilon Sorority would like to thank the entire community for supporting the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Towel Bingo. This is the first year the organization has sold out the event and the most proceeds ever made. Funds will help many more citizens and organizations who need assistance. “This is truly a work of love for us, a once-a-year occasion to raise money and we are so grateful for the support of every one of you,” organizers said. “All of you fill our hearts with joy!”

The theme for March is Transformation. On Sunday March 24, members of UUCNC’s Green Sanctuary Team will offer a service for UU Service Committee Sunday.

An annual spring program for congregations, UUSC Sunday (also known as Justice Sunday) offers congregations a broader look at UUSC’s mission and programs. Join our Green Sanctuary Team in exploring this year’s topic, selected by the UU Service Committee.
