SOAR Chapter

meets Tuesday

SOAR Chapter 4-1, will meet Tuesday at the USW Local 2693 Union Hall on Fourth Street in Dunkirk. The meeting will commence at noon with lunch to follow. All SOAR members and retirees are invited to attend. For further information contact Jim Bickhart at 716-366-1485.

Revitalize Dunkirk is again collaborating with National Fuel for its annual Days of Doing event on Monday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and a rain date of Tuesday.

All participants will check in at the Revitalize Dunkirk tent at the City Pier to sign a waiver, choose a work location and pick up supplies. Since our April 13 community trash clean-up was canceled due to high wind, volunteers may choose to pick up trash OR work on spring clean-up of public gardens and grounds at the Pier, Bicentennial Park, Janice Slaton Memorial Garden or the Dunkirk Lighthouse. Please bring your favorite tools if you have them. Come on down and help spruce up the city.

Cemetery Association

meets May 1

SILVER CREEK — The annual meeting of Evergreen Lawn Cemetery Association of Hanover Inc. is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 in Hanover Center Fire Hall, Hanover Road. All lot owners are voting members of the cemetery and are encouraged to attend. For questions, call 716-934-8226.

Garden Faire on May 18

SILVER CREEK — The 14th annual Garden Faire will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18. The Silver Creek Hanover Garden Club will have plant vendors, kids activities, garden and home decor, food and raffle at the event.
