Libraries celebrate increased funding

Mary E. Seymour Memorial Free Library and the Cassadaga branch is holding an Open House Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon to thank the community for their support in the recent successful sustainability vote. Festivities will be held at both branches at 22 North ST., Stockton; and Cassadaga, 18 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. Refreshments will be served.

Sheridan VFW Auxiliary plans for summer

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan VFW Post 6390 Auxiliary met on Monday at a member’s home for a regular meeting and it was followed by a picnic supper.

The group decided to do the same type of meeting with a picnic supper for July and August. The Program Chairs were discussed and have been set for the year.

On June 26 at 6 p.m., the group will be selling hot dogs, drinks and chips at a concert by the Cassadaga Band on the Town Office lawn. The Sheridan Historical Society will also be there selling baked goods.

This Friday at 4 p.m. there will be a bake sale at the post. If anyone is eligible or think they might be eligible to join our auxiliary, please contact Beckie Ross at rhuberross@stny.rr.com for an application.
