Zen City to play

at Legion

CASSADAGA — Today, the Cassadaga American Legion will have Zen City playing music from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Legion hall.

Veterans 4 Christ brunch Saturday

BROCTON — At 10 a.m. Saturday, Tri-Church Parish, at 41 E. Main St. will host the Veterans 4 Christ free brunch to the veterans, active-duty military and their family. On the menu is Paula’s Donuts, homemade potato casserole, sausage, scrambled eggs and fruit. The coffee pot also will be on. Please plan on attending. Tri-Church Parish is a handicap accessible, climate-controlled facility.

The guest speaker will be an occupational therapist who gives valuable information to those in attendance. Those with questions can call Wes Tessey at (716) 640-9883.

Lodge hosts Sunday breakfast

Forest Lodge 166 F & A.M. will be holding its Father’s Day Family Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, juice, milk, coffee and tea.

Adults and teenagers 13 and up are $11, children 5 to 12 are $6. Those under 5 are free. This breakfast is open to the public, and everyone is welcome and cordially invited to attend.

This will be the final breakfast for the season. It will resume on the third Sunday in September. As a special treat, Pomfret Town Historian, Todd Langworthy, will be on hand with some local history displays and information.

Anyone with interests in, or has questions about FreeMasonry will be given a tour of the building at the asking. Forest Lodge is located at 321 E. Main St., Fredonia.

Brocton-Portland Seniors meet

BROCTON — The Brocton-Portland Seniors met at Tri-Church on May 28. Prayer was given by Christina Galardo; the Pledge of Allegiance was by Rita Bennett and all members. Many delicious foods were prepared by the 43 members. Birthdays were announced; secretary and treasury reports were given and approved.

It was noted that Delores Campbell was in the hospital. Bingo was enjoyed; prizes were donated.

Through the Office for the Aging, the Local Roots food give away program information was given.

The next lunch/meeting will be on June 25, with pizza and fresh strawberry shortcake. Members may bring salads or a favorite dish to pass. Please include your own table service.
