Pomfret clerk’s office closing next week

The Pomfret town clerk’s office will be closed Wednesday, July 3, to Friday, July 5.

Market opening

planned for Saturday

MAVYILLE — This Saturday marks the Grand Opening of the Saturday evening market from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Train Depot in Mayville.

It will include a ribbon cutting at 16 Water St. (Train Depot).

After the market starting at 8 this Saturday there will be a movie in the park.

Organizers are looking for sponsors for the public viewing of the movies in the park since it is quite expensive. Bring your lawn chairs and your blankets.

Library sets fly fishing program Thursday

SINCLAIRVILLE — Country Kids on the Fly will meet at the Sinclairville Free Library, 15 Main St., on Thursday, at 6 p.m. This is a free program for ages 8 and up to learn fly tying and fishing techniques. All tools and materials will be provided.

Amish donuts offered on Fridays

MAYVILLE — Amish Donuts Friday is back. They are located at 38 E. Eríe St. this Friday and July 5.

They bring the freshly baked locally Amish made donuts in their shop. They purchase a certain quantity and offer them beginning at 8:30 am. until they are sold out.

They will offer the donuts weekly through the end of September or whenever the Amish neighbors are done.

Lakeshore Humane Society sets

membership meeting

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a monthly General Membership meeting on Thursday, July 18 at the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome. See www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org or call 716-672-1991 for information.
