Roblin coffee club meets Friday
Roblin Steel coffee club will be gathering at Dimitri’s Restaurant, Dunkirk at 9 a.m. Friday. All former employees, family and friends are always invited to attend.
Fredonia brush pickup begins Monday
The village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste beginning Monday at 7 a.m. Collection will continue until every street has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. Monday. In no case will there be a repeat collection of areas completed.
All yard waste must be bagged or in barrels. Residents are encouraged to use biodegradable bags or barrels and all limbs and brush must be tied with twine.
Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than 4 feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight. There is no collection of loose material. No loose leaves will be picked up.
Residents are reminded that they can bring yard waste to 176 Eagle street. No bags or containers shall be left behind.
Lily Dale plans fire hall event
LILY DALE — The Lily Dale Volunteer Fireman and EMS day will be at the Lily Dale Fire Hall on Saturday, July 13. A bake sale will be at 9 a.m. and a chicken barbecue for $15 will start at noon. From 6 to 9 p.m., there will be 10-minute mini readings for $10. In addition, there will be 50-50 drawings and theme baskets and auctions.
Adventures in Art starts Monday
SINCLAIRVILLE — Adventures in Art: Nature Study with Brenda Nickerson at the Sinclairville Free Library will be held on Mondays, July 8 and 22 and Aug. 12 and 26 at 6 p.m. Children will learn different art techniques (pencils, dry watercolor, flower pressing/leaf pounding, decoupage, etc.) to create a nature journal.
Each registered child will receive a spiral bound journal to create their nature art. Journals will be kept at the library throughout the summer and taken home at the last event.
Each session will teach a different art technique that can be used to “preserve” nature.
Participation in all four sessions is recommended, but is not required. Registration is required. Visit our website at sinclairvillelibrary.org or call 716.962.5885 to sign up. Seating is limited.
All materials are provided. Program is for ages 6 and up.
Children who are registered for our Adventure Begins at Your Library Summer Reading Challenge will get to pick a jibbitz for attending this program. Registration is open all summer for our Reading Challenge.
