AL Tech, retirees meet Saturday
The AL Tech and Dunkirk Specialty Steel Retirees will meet at Demitri’s Restaurant, Lake Shore Drive West, on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8:30 a.m. The retirees meet the first Saturday of every month. All retirees are invited to attend.
Third annual Women’s
Retreat set
SINCLAIRVILLE – The “Women on Fire for CHRIST” retreat will be on Aug. 17 at Park Methodist Church in Sinclairville. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The retreat is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be included in the price of $40 per person.
The guest speaker is Eileen Banks from Rome, NY., she is in charge of “Just Lean Ministry” which God has given her to encourage, instruct and inspire women in all walks of life, to draw closer to the Lord using unique ministries of drama, music, comedy, and inspiring words of God.
The first retreat took place in 2022 with 60 women attending. In 2023, there were 99 in attendance with Jill Kelly and her daughter Erin.

Woof ‘n’ Wine
benefit for Lakeshore Humane Society
SHERIDAN – Liberty Vineyards & Winery is hosting “Woof ‘n’ Wine” to benefit the Lakeshore Humane Society on Sunday, Aug. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. This will be held at Liberty Vineyards & Winery, 2861 Route 20 in Sheridan.
Participants can bring their dogs to this fun event! Tickets are on sale at Liberty’s website – www.libertywinery.com. Your ticket includes a walk through the vineyards with wine tasting and treat/water stops, a “barkuterie” board (dog treats), a glass of wine in the vineyard-view pavilion (must be at least 21 years of age for wine), a commemorative dog bandana, cookies from Lakeshore Humane Society, and a chance to win a dog-themed wine basket.
Additional dog-related activities will be available for a fee/donation to Lakeshore Humane Society: hot dog lunch, dog nail trimming, dog photography, and added chances for the wine basket.

barbecue Aug. 9
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia, will be holding its annual chicken barbecue on Friday, August 9, from 4-7 p.m. or until sold out. Take outs only. For presale tickets, please call 716-672-6731. Tickets are $15 and presale tickets will be honored until 5:30 p.m.
Lakeshore Humane Society meeting set
