Music in the Park tonight
BROCTON — The Ahira Hall Memorial Library continues its Music in the Ryckman Park series with Derek Davis and Angel Busch today beginning at 6:30 p.m. Come to the Park and enjoy a mix of Country and Rock from two great musicians.
Davis won the Chautauqua’s Got Talent in 2023 and Busch won in 2024.
The Brocton Fire Department will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and water for a donation. Staff and volunteers of the Ahira hall Memorial Library and the Ryckman Park Revitalization Committee will be selling 50-50 fundraiser raffle tickets and basket raffle tickets.

Coin Club show
set for Aug. 25
JAMESTOWN – Do you have coins you want to sell or trade or just learn their value? Or would you like to buy some coins to add to your collection?
Then you won’t want to miss the Jamestown Coin Club Coin Show on Sunday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Celoron American Legion, Herman Kent Post 777 on Jackson Avenue, just off Fairmount Avenue, in Jamestown. More than two dozen dealers from western New York, northwest Pennsylvania, and Ohio will be buying, selling, and offering free appraisals of U.S., ancient, and foreign coins. Coin supplies will also be available for purchase.
In addition to raffle prizes that include a tenth-ounce American Eagle, 3 BU Morgan dollars, a 1946 Walking Liberty half dollar, a 1896 uncirculated Indian Head cent and 4 Silver Eagle coins, door prizes will be given away hourly.
Except for December, the Jamestown Coin Club meets regularly on the fourth Tuesday of the month, also at the Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. and meetings begin at 7 p.m.
These monthly get-togethers include door prizes and raffles and are highlighted by an auction of coins submitted by members. Annual membership is $10. Guests are welcome to participate at no charge.
The Jamestown Coin Club presents their Spring Coin Show on the fourth Sunday in March.

Editor to discuss
local news Saturday
John D’Agostino, editor of the OBSERVER and The Post-Journal, will be speaking Saturday at the Darwin R. Barker Historical Society in Fredonia on the importance of local newspapers. His talk, which takes place at 2 p.m., is being held in conjunction with the exhibit “Fredonia UnCensored: The History of the Local Press.”

spotlight on Friday
BROCTON — Bring your kids to the Ahira Hall Memorial Library for an afternoon of Bubbles. On Friday at 3:45 p.m., Miss Francine will be discussing the science behind bubbles, showing us how they are formed, color changes, etc.

Performances for weekend
canceled
WESTFIELD — Due to illness, the scheduled “Dancing with Breast Cancer” performances lined up for the Lake Shore Center for the Arts have been canceled. The shows were scheduled from Friday to Sunday at the location in the village.
