Parks Commission meets Thursday

PORTLAND — The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will be having its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Luensman Overlook Park on Thayer Road. The public is welcome to attend.

VFW Auxiliary talks donations, raffle

SHERIDAN — Sheridan VFW Auxiliary Post 6390 held its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. in the conference room at the post. It accepted a new member into the auxiliary.

The members discussed several business items, monthly donations to organizations that support veterans and their families and the progress of ticket selling for our raffle of two tickets to the Ship ‘N Shore event at the Buffalo Naval Park.

The two tickets are valued at $150 and the raffle tickets cost $10 each. These sorts of fundraisers allow the group to continue with our monthly donations.The next meeting will be held at the post on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
