Gun raffle planned
at Elks Lodge
The second annual gun raffle is being held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Dunkirk Elks Lodge. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from Elk members or at the lodge bar. Tickets may also be purchased at the raffle until the drawing begins.
Ten different firearms will be given away and two cash prizes. A background check must be passed to obtain a firearm. Your tickets will also get you a delicious homemade sandwich.

Baby contest
set for Sept. 14
SINCLAIRVILLE — The annual Sinclairville baby contest will be on Saturday Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Sinclairville Fire Hall. The contest is open to all babies under the age of two and there is no entry fee. Prior registration is not required. Babies will be judged in several categories.
City beach times change
for next week
Dunkirk’s beaches will be open from noon to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday, Aug. 30. The change in times is due to low staffing levels. City officials noted that if you do not see a lifeguard on the beaches, residents should not be swimming.
Westfield to hold
special meeting
WESTFIELD – The Westfield Village Board is holding a non-public hearing special work session meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, from 4-6 p.m. and will enter into Executive Session to discuss the employment history of a particular member or members in a village department.
