Cruise-In planned for History Fair
SINCLAIRVILLE — The village will host a Cruise-in on Saturday Sept. 14 as part of the annual History Fair. The cruise-in will be at the Village Hall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Trophies and door prizes will be given.
Everyone is welcome. Cars, trucks, motorcycles and farm tractors.
Chicken barbecue set for Sunday
FORESTVILLE — The Forestville United Methodist Church’s annual Fall Chicken barbecue will take place Sunday from noon until sold out.
Drive through only. Price is $15 per meal, and will include 1/2 barbecue chicken, potato salad, tossed salad, dinner roll and desert.

Food drive set for Friday in city
The Dunkirk Football program will be hosting a food drive on Friday to support the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry. Fans are asked to bring non-perishable food donations to the Marauders’ home opener against Depew on Friday at 7 p.m.
Brocton-Portland Seniors meet
BROCTON — Brocton-Portland Seniors met Aug. 27 at Tri Church Parish. Margaret Jagoda President opened the meeting before 51 members. Anita Calcaterra gave the Prayer of Thanks and Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dale Davis.
The committee for the Birthday Month decorated the tables with birthday look-a-likes made by Linda Riley. Rita Bennett, Elaine Frederickson, Lynn DiPalma were thanked. They set up the tables and cleaned up the Luncheon of pot luck dishes, ending with three tasty birthday cakes. Secretary Ruth Neal read a report for July 30 meeting, approved by Tom DeJoe and Kathy Peters.
Barb Crandall gave her Treasurer’s report, approved by Linda Riley and June Woollett. New member Leigh DeJoe was introduced. Chuck Cichon announced a car show in Cassadaga. Robin Carr can be reached at 716-230-2081 for a trip to Salamanca on Oct. 22, the Rhinestone Cowgirls and the Daniel Show Oct 16 to 18. Charlie and Barb Crandall celebrated their anniversary. Birthdays for August were Tom DeJoe, Dorothy Derby, Deb Messere, Denise Spiller, Louise Torrey and Judy Hilliard .
There were two door prizes and eight raffle winners. Tom Gestwicki entertained with oldies songs along with great tunes, music stories and guitars including a bedpan one member got to sing with! Kathy Peters and Anita Calcaterra adjourned the meeting. Tuesday, Sept 24 is a Chinese Auction with members’ contributions. Louise Torrey, Candy Philbrick, Chris Galardo, Nancy Hayden, Brenda Drummond are the committee. This will be a potluck tureen luncheon with members bringing an auction, a dish to share and their own personal table service .
