Cemetery meeting set for Tuesday

The Willowbrook Park Cemetery monthly meeting will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Mackowiak Funeral Home on Doughty Street in Dunkirk. All are welcome.

County Legion Auxiliary meets Thursday

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be held at William L. Travis Post 493 in Mayville on Thursday at 7 p.m. All units are encouraged to have a representative in attendance.

Zittel and band coming to Sinclairville

SINCLAIRVILLE — Paul Zittel and his band Pure Country will perform in Sinclairville under the big tent on Saturday, Sept. 14 as part of the annual History Fair. The band will begin their performance at 11 a.m. There is no charge, just bring a chair or blanket and enjoy the music. Zittel has performed locally for more than 40 years and is a crowd favorite wherever he performs.

Library lists upcoming events

SINCLAIRVILLE — Baby Talk, the Sinclairville Free Library’s new Early Literacy Program for ages birth to two years old, begins sessions on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m. September’s topic is “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” (body awareness). October’s topic is “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” (food). Children and their caregivers are invited to join Library Assistant Jessica Huling for songs, bounces, stories, read-alongs and play that helps babies gain the building blocks to early literacy. Registration is required.

Child’s Play, the Sinclairville Free Library’s Early Literacy Program, begins Fall sessions on Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. with the following schedule of topics: Sept. 11 “School Readiness: What’s the Weather?” (weather wheel); Sept. 18 “Letter Day: H” (H is for House). Each month will feature a new letter to help children learn the alphabet. Sept. 25 “Llama Llama Red Pajama” (paper craft). Children ages two to preschool and their caregivers are invited to join Library Assistant Jessica Huling for engaging stories, social play, crafts and songs. This is a time for children to play together while learning important skills. Older siblings are also welcome to attend.

Breakfast returns Sept. 15

Forest Lodge 166 F & A.M. is back up and running for the season, and holding its monthly Sunday Family Breakfast on Sept. 15, from 8:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast, will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, juice, milk, coffee, and Tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up are $12, children 5-12 $6. Kids under 5 are free. This breakfast is open to the public, and everyone is welcome and cordially invited to attend. Anyone with interests in, or has questions about Free Masonry will be given a tour of the building at the asking. Forest Lodge is located at 321 East Main St., Fredonia.
