Meat party set in Forestville

FORESTVILLE — The Forestville American Legion Meat Party will be Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Legion Hall. Free admission and refreshments are included. There will be a Chinese auction, lottery tree, 50-50 drawing and raffle tickets.

CVCS board meets Wednesday

Ripley school board to meet in Fredonia

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be held on Wednesday immediately following the Chautauqua County School Boards Association dinner meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Horizon Room located in the Williams Center at SUNY Fredonia for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board.

Sinclairville book sale scheduled

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library’s annual book sale will be held on Thursday, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a bag sale Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Baked goods will also be available for purchase. All proceeds from the book and baked goods sale are used for the benefit of the library and to enhance collections and programs. Library Board meetings are at 6 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month except for December. Board meetings are open to the public, and community input is valued.

County Legion Auxiliary meets Thursday

The Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be held at Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59, 156 E. Main St., on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow.

Dinner reservations must be made with respective Unit Presidents. Eighth District Auxiliary President Pattie Galley and Vice President Sue Williams will be the honored guests. All units are encouraged to attend to welcome the District Auxiliary officers.

Roblin Steel group meets Friday

The Roblin Steel monthly coffee and breakfast gathering will be on Friday at Demetri’s On the Lake Restaurant in Dunkirk at 9 a.m. As always, friends, family and guests are welcome.
