Fall foliage noted in state

Colorful peak foliage is making its way out of the higher elevations of the Adirondacks and into its outlying areas, while gorgeous peak foliage expands throughout much of the northern Catskills.

Peak foliage will also arrive in the southwestern portion of the Finger Lakes and much of the southern portion of the Chautauqua-Allegheny region. Leaves in other parts of Upstate New York will generally range from midpoint of change to near-peak, according to the field reports from more than 85 volunteer observers for the Empire State Development Division of Tourism’s I LOVE NY program.

Travelers should find peak leaves in Adirondack locations including Lake Placid, Wilmington, Benson, and Lowville. In the Catskills, check out the beautiful peak colors throughout most of Delaware and Greene counties, while Allegany State Park in Salamanca should offer bright hues in the Chautauqua-Allegheny region. Foliage will still be in the early stages of transition in the lower Hudson Valley, and throughout most of New York City and Long Island.

Starting at $3.50/week.
