Family Sing Along is Oct. 19

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library invites the public to participate in musical adventures at the library with Family Sing Along on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m. led by Hope Fredrickson.

This musical adventure program is free and open to all ages. Join with others to sing familiar tunes and learn some new ones, too. Trunk or treat planned at church

WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church Sunday School is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will take place rain or shine at the church with food, games, prizes, crafts, treats, and pumpkin decorating! Bring out the whole family in costume for a free evening of good, clean fun! It is located at 7081 East Route 20.

Author plans Tuesday presentation

ASHVILLE — Join virtually or in person on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a talk with Patricia “Trish” A. Neal, author of a book about Anna E. (Ploss) Durkee. The book is titled “Wrangell Garnet Ledge History and the history of the Alaska Garnet Mining & Manufacturing Co.” Learn how she went from teaching in North Harmony schools to creating, with her partner Mary T. Faces in Crowd workshop is Oct. 19

GOWANDA — On Saturday, Oct. 19, Valerie Walawender will present her Faces in the Crowd workshop at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, 75 Center St. From 1-4 p.m. at no charge. Walawender’s documentary film “Tradition, Trauma, and Tenderness” premiered at Gowanda’s Hollywood Theater last year. The Faces in the Crowd program uses a unique approach to invite participants to navigate interpersonal differences (age, gender, ethnicity, etc) with empathy and understanding.
