Author at Brocton library today
BROCTON — The Ahira Hall Memorial Library’s Write Focus Writers’ Group will be hosting local author Deborah Madar for an Author Chat at 6:30 p.m. today. The library is located at 37 W. Main St.
She is a native of Western New York and has published four novels, including her recent titled, “Boulder Point,” the second in the Connor Merrill series. For more information, contact the library at (716) 792-9418
Monte Carlo Night planned Saturday
SHERIDAN — The third annual Monte Carlo Night will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Sheridan VFW at 2556 Route 20. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and games of chance begin at 6. There is no admission fee and there are free hors d’oeuvres, music and a basket raffle.
The event is sponsored by the SonShine Charitable Fund with all proceeds going to help defray the cost of funeral expenses for families who lose a child.
Open House planned for VA Clinic
The Dunkirk VA Clinic, 1170 Central Ave., Suite 130, Dunkirk, is hosting an open house on Friday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to orientate and educate Veterans about services by the VA for Western New York.
There also will be information regarding enrollment and eligibility, VA disability claims, ID cards and more.
