Sweetest Day Expo is Saturday

BROCTON — Arch Festivals presents the 2024 Sweetest Day Expo and Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Brocton Central School.

There will be live entertainment by TVm and John Savage and free door prize drawings. In addition, there will be a basket raffle, food trucks, community organizations, local business, craft and food vendors.

Vendor applications are required to be submitted and approved ahead of time.

Also, Concord Pharmacy will be administering a limited supply of flu and COVID vaccines from 10 a.m. to noon free of charge to those with valid insurance cards, including Medicaid for those over 65.

Booster Club

The Southern Tier Bills Booster Club will watch the Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans game on Sunday at the Moniuszko Club in Dunkirk game time is 1 p.m. Munchies and refreshments will be provided, members may bring food items to pass but it is not required.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua (UUCNC), located at 222 Temple Street in Fredonia, holds a Sunday Worship Service at 11 a.m., both at their physical location and on Zoom.

For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building. Handicapped parking is located between the two buildings and directly behind the second building.

The theme for October is Deep Listening. The Sunday worship service will focus on Covenant of Right Relations

The Right Relations team will present a service on the challenges and opportunities that arise when we attempt to live our UU values in our congregational community. The revised Covenant of Right Relations will be presented, and all will have the opportunity to sign the Covenant.

After the service, the Right Relations team will offer a light lunch followed by a Restorative Practice Circle to discuss the challenges and opportunities of living and working in the community.

Family breakfast

set for Sunday

Forest Lodge 166 F&AM will be holding its monthly Sunday Family Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will consist of eggs made to order, pancakes or French Toast, sausages, fruit cocktail, juice, milk, coffee and tea. Adults and teenagers 13 and up $12, children, 5-12 $6. Kids under 5 are free.

This breakfast is open to the public, and everyone is welcome and cordially invited to attend. Anyone with interests in, or has questions about Free Masonry will be given a tour of the building at the asking.

Forest Lodge will be having some special guests for the breakfast, with members of the cast and crew of the Main Street Studios Community Theatre Project’s “The Wizard of Oz”, helping to serve and entertain guests. “The Wizard of Oz” will be playing on Oct. 24, 25, 26, 31, and Nov. 1, and 2, at 7:30 pm, with one matinee on Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. Main Street Studios is located at 50 West Main Street, Fredonia, entering through the alleyway. Poetry, prose

workshop planned

SINCLAIRVILLE — Join John Brantingham at the Sinclairville Free Library for a generative poetry and prose workshop at 5 p.m. Monday followed by an open mic reading at 6 p.m. In the generative workshop, you will produce at least one piece of poetry or fiction.

Later, we will have a reading of your work. Read what you wrote at the workshop or anything else. Attend both or one of the sessions, but please join in for inspiration and fun!
