Rec department plans Halloween event

The city of Dunkirk Youth and Recreation Department will be hosting a Halloween event from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Trick-or-Treating will take place outside between Central Station Restaurant and the Stearns Building.

Inside the Stearns Building, Halloween movies, arts and crafts, and refreshments will take place. Kids of all ages are welcome and should wear their best costume.

WACS planning dinner theater event

WESTFIELD — Westfield Academy and Central School will be presenting its 25th annual dinner Theatre on Nov. 15 and 16. Dinner is available during pre-show at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 each night.

Dinner choices and a link to purchase tickets are available on the Westfield Central School website. Dinner reservations must be received by Nov. 8. Tickets for the show only are available online and in person up until the curtain time each night.

The production will be “A Christmas Carol” with music by Westfield residents Nannette and Kent Knappenberger. Westfield Academy and Central School has produced this version of “A Christmas Carol” four different times and it features an all-star student cast.

Steel retirees to meet Nov. 2

The Al Tech / Dunkirk Specialty Steel retirees will meet on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8:30 a.m. at Demitri’s Restaurant, Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk. Any retiree is invited to attend.

Musical Jamboree planned

for Nov. 13

Join us at Campus & Community Children’s Center, 11 Brigham Road, Fredonia, for an early childhood Musical Jamboree to celebrate the joy of movement and play through song. The center will share classic finger plays, dances, and interactive tunes that will have you and your child connecting through music and movement.

Music play is so much more fun when it’s shared with friends and family, so come support your child’s musical, social, and cognitive development on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m. You’ll leave with a renewed appreciation for your young musician, new memories, and music play activities you can continue at home!
