Post 62 meets Wednesday

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Post 62 monthly meeting will be Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at 211 Central Ave. Legion dues for 2025 are now payable at the Post, by mail, or online at my legion.org Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month and both current and new legion members are encouraged to attend.

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary will hold its December meeting Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in their back hall. All members are encouraged to attend to help with ideas to further our mission toward helping veterans and the community.

Club Associates

gather Dec. 15

The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates regular monthly meeting is Sunday, Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dunkirk Elks Clubs, 428 Central Ave. Elections will be held for 2025. Speaker will be Kelly Borrello of the United Way.

Fred Basket expands hours

On Saturday, Dec. 21, Fred Basket, previously known as The Fredonia Food Pantry, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. It also will be open Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Thursdays 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests may only receive one helping a month.

These new hours hope to serve those who cannot attend on Saturdays. The food pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, ZIP 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

The Willowbrook Park Cemetery board monthly meeting will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Mackowiak Funeral Home on Doughty Street. All are welcome.

SINCLAIRVILLE — The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Sinclairville Elementary School Cafeteria.
