Veterans 4 Christ brunch Saturday
BROCTON – Saturday, April 17th, is the monthly free brunch for veterans, active-duty military and their guests. This brunch is sponsored by Veterans 4 Christ and Dwyer Chautauqua. It is homemade breakfast items – plus Paula’s Donuts. This Saturday we have a surprise for you – a surprise guest who will not want to miss.
Brunch is served 1000 hours and is held at Tri-Church Parish, 41 E. Main St., Brocton. The facility is handicap accessible.

Author to speak at library
SINCLAIRVILLE – Local author Walt Pickut will be at the Sinclairville Free Library on Monday, April 21 at 6 p.m. to discuss The First Counterspy, a book with local connections. This is a “pulse-quickening and traumatic story of spy-and-counterspy and an American family unwittingly caught in their web.”
Pickut began his writing career after retiring from the healthcare field, and previously served as newspaper editor for the Jamestown Gazette. He has published five books as a freelancer, co-author or ghostwriter: The First Counterspy, The Best Years of My Life, a Patient’s Guide to LASIK Eye Surgery, A Patient’s Guide to Varicose Vein Surgery, and Think Like A Winner.
The author will also discuss his current works in process: a science fiction novel and a how-to book on becoming a ghostwriter.
CVCS Board of Education to meet
SINCLAIRVILLE – A special meeting for the Board of Education of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Middle/High School Multi-Purpose Room and via Zoom https://zoom.us/j/95237387537. A budget workshop will be held prior to the meeting beginning at 5 p.m.
