Gowanda Community Cleanup Saturday
GOWANDA — All are welcome to join the annual Community Cleanup in Gowanda on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Community members are collaborating to beautify and tidy up from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. during this Earth Month celebration. Meet up at Jesse’s Home and Gifts on Main Street; all supplies provided.
The Community Cleanup focuses on removing litter from the village’s public spaces, parks, and roadsides. People of all ages unite to collect and properly dispose of trash to make Gowanda a cleaner, greener place to live.
The Ensering Hopes & Dreams Incorporated nonprofit is donating gloves to this year’s event while Jim and Laurie Fort of the Gowanda Shop N Save grocery store are providing hot dogs and water for all volunteers.
In a new effort, the Community Cleanup organizers are hoping to dedicate a few of our volunteers to cleaning up the Pine Hill Cemetery in Gowanda
Gowanda high school students can receive credit for volunteer hours. All participants are asked to check in so organizers can keep track of hours for National Honor Society, scholarships and more.

For those wishing to join virtually, please visit https://tinyurl.com/caluucnc. Click on “Worship Service” on the date you are attending and scroll down for the Zoom link. For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building. Handicapped parking is located between the two buildings and directly behind the second building.
The theme for April is Joy. On Sunday April 27 join us as members and friends of the congregation present “Love is at the Center.”
The Unitarian Universalist Association’s Shared Values statement passed a General Assembly delegate vote in June 2024. Janey Wagner painted a lovely version of the values graphic with Love on a chalice in the center. This service will include readings and music to illustrate our shared UU values of Interdependence, Equity, Transformation, Pluralism, Generosity, and Justice.
