Sheridan VFW
Auxiliary plans for May
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan VFW Auxiliary met on Monday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the post meeting room. We discussed many business items such as our monthly bake sale to be held this Friday at the Post, starting at 4.
Members of the auxiliary will meet at the cemetery on May 17 at 10:00 to help with the placing of flags on military members’ graves. The auxiliary will be purchasing a wreath to be placed on a recently deceased military veteran’s grave for Memorial Day. We donated a basket to the Warrior Relief for their basket raffle.
It was decided that our summer meetings would be held at members’ houses for discussion of business and a picnic. This will be the months of June, July and August. The group also signed up to help with poppy distribution at Walmart on Sunday, May 25.
On May 26 members will attend the Memorial Day service at the cemetery at noon.
The next meeting will be June 9 at 6:30 at the home of Beckie Ross. Each member will bring a dish to pass.
