38th annual Memorial
Day Service planned
at lighthouse
The Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse and Veterans Park Museum will be celebrating its 38th annual Memorial Day Service on Monday morning. The service will be co-sponsored by The Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse and Veterans Park Museum and the Knights of Columbus. The service begins at 8:30 on the Lighthouse grounds, 1 Lighthouse Point Drive, Dunkirk. The flags will be flown in memory of Barbara Lawson. Guest speakers include U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy, Mayor Kate Wdowiasz, and Lincoln Krout. The public is welcome to attend this ceremony.

Voters to host
Town Hall meeting
The League of Women Voters of Chautauqua County will sponsor a Congressional Town Hall for New York’s 23rd District on Tuesday, May 27 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fredonia Grange Hall, 58 W. Main St., Fredonia.
The Town Hall will provide constituents with the opportunity to engage directly with representatives and hear multiple perspectives on key issues facing the district.
U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy, who currently represents the 23rd Congressional District, has been invited to attend and take questions from the audience.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz will participate in the event, offering responses and commentary that reflect the Democratic point of view.
Community members are encouraged to participate by submitting questions in advance.

BROCTON — The Literacy in Art, Reading and Culture program of the Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton presents Remembering Faith: featuring Celebrated American Artist, Author and Activist, Faith Ringgold.
Art and Culture Educator, Lucy Andrus will present information about this pioneering artist and beloved author of Tar beach, encourage participants to view our exhibit, and lead a hands-on art activity. It is Wednesday, May 28 from m6 to 8 p.m. in the library. No prior experience is needed. Pre-registration is appreciated.

Cost is $5 per household. List of sale locations will be available at Cave’s on the day of sales.
