Cemetery board meets Tuesday
The Willowbrook Park Cemetery board monthly meeting will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Mackowiak Funeral Home on Doughty Street in Dunkirk. All are welcome.
Threads of History guest at library
BROCTON — Threads of History, an interview with Guest Speaker Bob Patterson Sr. will be Tuesday in the Ahira Hall Memorial Library and the Historical Society of Brocton-Portland. The event aims to weave together the tapestry of a rich community with threads of our neighbors’ memories. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Attend in person at the library or view on Facebook live.
Yard sales June 14 in Forestville
FORESTVILLE — Forestville Community Yard Sales will be on Saturday, June 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A list of participants will be available at Cave’s Market on the day of sales. Area residents may still sign up at NBT Bank or Cave’s Market.
County Legion Auxiliary to meet
BROCTON — The Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be hosted by John W. Dill Unit 434, on Thursday with dessert at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Nominations, election, and installation of 2025-26 County Officers will be held. Auxiliary members are urged to consider serving as an officer and/or committee chairperson. Units are requested to have a representative in attendance to achieve a quorum.
Chicken barbecue set for June 28
Pillar of Fire Fellowship is hosting its annual Weidner’s Chicken BBQ on Saturday, June 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. The proceeds will be used to benefit North Carolina Hurricane Victims. Many are still recovering from last year’s hurricanes and Pillar of Fire is working in partnership with North Carolina missions to help the victims.
Tickets to the BBQ are $15 and include half chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans and a dinner roll. Dinners will be served drive-thru only.
Tickets can be purchased at the door, or presale tickets can be purchased on Saturday, June 21 at Tractor Supply in Dunkirk between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
