Bay Creek
district meets today
HANOVER — The organizational meeting of the Bay Creek Fire District will be at 6 p.m. today at the Hanover Town Hall. A regular meeting of the Fire District will follow immediately thereafter at the same location.
Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal
GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. The menu is Italian sausage hoagies, tossed salad, chips, fruit and a cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is Aug. 9.
Sons of Revolution
meet in Stockton
STOCKTON — There will be a meeting of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Stockton Hotel. Subjects include the election of officers, and reports on upcoming events by Paul Fardink and Norman Carlson.
After the meeting we will be going to the Floral Hall at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds to set up our historical display. All members are encouraged to attend, as well as interested DAR members and members of the public with a keen interest in our nation’s founding history.
Fredonia Ukulele
plays on Saturday
Fredonia Ukulele will gather Saturday at Domus Fare Restaurant, 41 W. Main St., Fredonia, from 5 to 7 p.m. Play immediately (all ability levels) and no experience necessary. The group is all about making music as a community. The goal is to have fun and to make music.
Ukuleles provided or bring your own. Play, sing, or just enjoy listening. Come and go as you please.
Annual Blueprint
Day planned in Gowanda
GOWANDA — Gowanda Central School District is continuing its annual strategic planning process to refine the Blueprint for Success for the 2025-26 academic year.
Community members are invited to participate in the next step in refining the Blueprint for Success by attending the Community Blueprint planning day on Tuesday, Aug. 12, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., in the high school auditorium. This is an opportunity to participate in further shaping Gowanda CSD’s future.
All district-interested parties are welcome to help develop and refine ideas to accomplish the district’s objectives in each identified priority area for the upcoming school year.
