retirees’ breakfast
Retirees from the Dunkirk Fire Department Local 616 and retirees from the Fredonia Fire Department Local 2931 will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Demetri’s Restaurant, 6 Lake Shore Drive W., Dunkirk at 9 a.m. for a retirees’ breakfast.
Open Adoption Hours
canceled for Saturday
The usual Lakeshore Humane Society Saturday Open Adoption Hours will not be held this Saturday due to volunteers working at the 21st Annual LHS Giant Yard Sale at the Chautauqua County Fairground’s Floral Hall, 1089 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Usual Saturday Open Adoption Hours will resume Aug. 23 from noon to 3 p.m. at the LHS Adoption Center at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. SCOPE plans
next meeting Tuesday
MAYVILLE — S.C.O.P.E. is the Shooters Committee on Political Education. The next Chautauqua County SCOPE meeting is Tuesday at 7 p.m. Discussions on “Defending the US Constitution and the rights of all New York gun owners” will be at the VFW 8647, 10 Memorial Drive.
State S.C.O.P.E. President John Elwood, Treasurer Tom Reynolds and Second Vice President Jim Krywalski will speak at the “Right Thinkers” meeting in “The Hall,” 10 Fourth St., Allegany, on Monday. Doors open at 5 p.m. with panel discussion “Is Governor Hochul coming to take our guns.” The location is an approximate 45 minute drive from Jamestown Exit 12 on I-86.
