Board to meet Sept. 18
The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Hall R. Clothier Building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person. Members of the public may view the meeting live via the Chautauqua County Health Department’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@chautauquacountyhealthdepa7399/streams. Lakeshore Humane Society sets monthly
general membership meeting
The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a monthly general membership meeting on Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome. See www.lakeshorehumanesociety.org or call 716-672-1991 for information.
NCCF flapjack breakfast fundraiser set
On Saturday, Sept. 20, the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation (NCCF) is hosting an Applebee’s Flapjack Breakfast Fundraiser at the Applebee’s located on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk. The event runs from 8-10 a.m. and features a delicious flapjack breakfast, an engaging “Be A Philanthropist” grant contest, and a basket raffle.
The goal is to raise funds for the NCCF Service Learning Grant Program. This program allows teachers in Northern Chautauqua County to implement projects that integrate community service with traditional instruction, enhancing students’ educational experiences while fostering civic responsibility.
St John’s dinners
return Sept. 20
St. John’s Church 733 Central Ave., Dunkirk will again be offering to the public monthly dinners, beginning with chicken and biscuits on Saturday, Sept. 20. Serving from 4:30-6 p.m., the cost is still $13. This includes dessert. PLease call 716-366-0710 for tickets, which will be at the will call table. Eat in or take out. Use the Eagle St entrance/parking.
