Dunkirk Vets of WWII Weidner’s chicken barbecue
The Dunkirk Vets of WWII will hold a Weidner’s chicken barbecue on Sunday at 216 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk, from noon until sold out. Presale tickets are guaranteed until 3 p.m. There is a $15 donation.

Gowanda plans Facebook Live with superintendent
GOWANDA — Gowanda Central School District residents are invited to participate in a question-and-answer session with Superintendent Dr. Robert B. Anderson on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. via Facebook Live.
This virtual communication opportunity is intended to provide district residents with an update on topics such as the 2025-school year, goals, strategic planning, events, staff and student achievement, and more.
The Q&A will be recorded and available on the district Facebook page to be viewed at residents’ convenience.
Those unable to participate in real time are encouraged to submit questions or topics for discussion in advance via email to district clerk Kathy Ferneza at msferneza@gcslearn.org or at 716-532-3325, ext. 6300. Deadline to submit questions is noon Oct. 21.
