Fall Fest takes place this weekend

FORESTVILLE — The Forestville Fall Festival will be Saturday and Sunday at the Forestville High School. The committee has decorated the downtown area to welcome guests.

Vendors will fill the gym and hallway. There will be food available outside. There will be baked goods, sweets, produce and a huge variety of crafts. There will be free activities for children. Everyone is welcome to take part in the Chili cook-off. Name your chili, enter by noon on Saturday. Minimum five-quart pot.

Join the American Legion on Saturday evening at 7 for their Meat Party at the Legion Hall. The Forestville Firemen will hold a chicken barbecue on Sunday starting at noon until sold out at the Fire Hall on Chestnut Street.

Steel retirees gather on Saturday

The Al Tech / Dunkirk Specialty Steel Retirees will meet Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at Demitri’s Restaurant, Lake Shore Drive West n Dunkirk. All retirees are invited to attend.

Sinclairville library sets book sale

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Free Library’s annual book sale will be on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 2 to 7 p.m. and Friday Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a bag sale Saturday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Baked goods will also be available for purchase.

All proceeds from the book and baked goods sale are used for the benefit of the library and to enhance collections and programs. For more information, call 716-962-5885 or visit the library’s website at www.sinclairvillelibrary.org.

Library Board meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month except for December. Board meetings are open to the public, and community input is valued.
