Veterans 4 Christ meet Saturday
BROCTON — This Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m., there is a homemade-style brunch for veterans, active-duty military and their plus one at Veterans 4 Christ. This brunch is free and held at Tri-Church Parish in Brocton. The guest speaker will be Lori Dispenza from The Dunkirk VA office. Please plan on attending. County Ethics Board meets Wednesday
MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will be holding a meeting on Wednesday at noon in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St. Current members of the board are John Hamels, Diane Hannum, and Stephanie Stevens.

Spooky adventure planned Oct. 31
CASSADAGA — A spine-chilling event will take place at the Haunted Tales of Cassadaga Catacombs on Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 86 N. Main St. Experience a thrilling haunted house and trunk or treat, but beware — not everyone who enters finds their way out! Perfect for a spooky Halloween adventure.
Knights of Columbus clothing drive
The Dunkirk and Fredonia Councils of the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a gently-used clothing drive the weekend of Oct. 25 and 26 in the Holy Trinity parking lot, 1032 Central Ave., Dunkirk. Drop off one hour before Masses or immediately after. All sizes are welcome. Mass times at Holy Trinity are 4 p.m. Saturdays; 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sundays. Donations are appreciated.
United Senior Citizens list meeting, events
Members of the United Senior Citizens met Oct. 13 to enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of Allison’s baked chicken, herb roasted pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, tossed and macaroni salads and the “surprise” dessert of pineapple dump cake with real whipped cream.
President Evonne Hennebery opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by God Bless America. A prayer of thanksgiving was offered up by member, Robin Carr. Before and after lunch, members enjoyed each other’s company and many stayed for Bingo, called by Lucy Saeli and Rosemary Mancuso. Birthday greetings were sung to Nancy Jankowski and new members: Carol Hatfield, Pat Kibbe and Catherine Nelder were welcomed.

The next lunch meeting will be Nov. 10, at noon at the Falcon Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive East. United Senior Citizens is one of many Chautauqua County Senior groups meeting the second Monday of each month except January and February at noon, Falcon Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive East and open to all seniors 55 years and older.
