Church planning rummage sale

Trinity Episcopal Church Women Fall Rummage sale will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

As always, there will be many treasures to discover. All items are clean, in good working order and priced to sell.

Some of the items for sale include: kitchen items, small appliances, holiday decor, bedding, fall/winter clothing, small furniture pieces, collectibles, knick knacks, some books, jewelry. Bring your own bags if you have one and discover just what you or your house is missing. The sale is in Garland Hall, which is located at the back of the church on 11 Day St., Fredonia.

BPO seeks scholarship applications

The Friends of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra are accepting applications for up to nine scholarships.

Seniors who will enroll at a university/college as a music major in the fall of 2026 are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is Nov. 18. Information and applications are available on the bpo.org website https://bpo.org/youngmusiciansscholarship/ or by calling 716-868-1655.

Parks Commission meets Thursday

JAMESTOWN — The Chautauqua County Parks Commission is meeting Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Chautauqua County Airport conference room. The public is welcome to attend.

Choir planning chicken barbecue

Fredonia Community Choir will be hosting a fund-raising chicken barbecue on Sunday. The event will be at the Edwards Waterhouse Bed and Breakfast located at 71 Central Ave. There is a wrap-around driveway which will allow folks to just drive through. You may choose to eat in the Inn itself in which case you will be directed where to park.

Weidner’s barbecue will be available from noon to 4 p.m. The price of $16 includes chicken, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, buttered roll. Two dessert options are available, pumpkin coffee cake or Apple crumb for $4. Preorder with any choir member or find the Facebook Fredonia Community Choir page for order form and payment information. There will be tickets available at the welcome table.

All proceeds benefit this non-profit organization. The fall concert will be on Sunday, Nov. 30. More information about the concert will follow.

Library putting focus on poetry

SINCLAIRVILLE — Join John Brantingham, professor emeritus of creative writing, for a free poetry class and workshop on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Sinclairville Free Library at 15 Main St. Learn about contemporary poetry and participate in a writing workshop to compose your own poems. There is also an opportunity to participate in a poetry reading on Thursday, Nov. 13 when T. Anders Carson and Kendall Johnson will present their poetry via Zoom. Local poets are invited to share their work during an in-person open mic afterwards.
