Leaf collection begins Monday in city
City of Dunkirk Department of Public Works announces a sweep of bagged, barreled and loose leaves will start on Monday in District A. Once the first sweep of District A is complete, crews will then move to District B. District C and District D will follow in order at a weather permitting pace. Crews will only be in each District once.
When placing leaves at the curb, residents are asked to keep them clear of receivers and utility poles and out of the street. Please do not mix branches with leaves.

DAR groups meets this month
The Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held a business meeting at the Patterson Library in Westfield on Nov. 6.
The opening ritual was led by Regent Myra Johnston and Deborah Cenni, Chaplain. The President General’s Report was read by Sandy Haskin about the increased awareness of the diversity of Patriots.
The group applied for a Pomeroy Foundation plaque for next year. Johnston reported she completed and filed the Letter of Intent and received word that we were denied. She is continuing to pursue it
Barbara Pietro is Chairwoman for the Christmas Party and reported she is accepting RSVPs.
Historical events in November: November 1989 – Fall Berlin Wall; November 11, 1918 – Armistice Signed – WWl ended; November 19, 1863 – Gettysburg Address.
The next meeting will be on March 5 at the Barker Museum in Fredonia at 4 p.m.

Bills Boosters
gathering Sunday
The Southern Tier Bills Booster Club will watch the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Buffalo Bills game on Sunday at the First Ward Falcon Club. Game time is 1 p.m. Golabki (stuffed cabbage rolls) will be provided.
