VFW hosting Thanksgiving
dinner
SHERIDAN — The VFW Memorial Post 6390 in Sheridan, NY is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner. If you are alone, have a small gathering or just prefer not to cook, come join us for a homemade Thanksgiving meal.
The VFW will be open Thanksgiving day from noon to 4 p.m. serving turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and desserts. Dinner is homemade and a cash bar is also available.
All veterans and their spouses eat free. Others are just $15 per person. The VFW is always open to the public and you do not need to be a member.
Reservations are not required, though appreciated at 716-672-6011 The VFW is located at 2556 Route 20.
Legion Auxiliary meets today
The American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary meeting will be today in Dunkirk at 6 p.m. All are welcome.
Club Associates meeting Sunday
The next meeting of the Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates is Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Beaver Club in Fredonia. All members are invited to attend.
Forum to discuss Alzheimer’s and holidays
CASSADAGA — Dealing with Alzheimer’s and the Holidays will be the topic Wednesday, Dec. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Seymour Library Cassadaga branch at 18 Maple Ave.
The holidays are often filled with sharing, laughter and memories, but they can also bring stress, disappointment or sadness. A person living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia may feel a special sense of loss during the holidays because of the changes he or she has experienced. Caregivers may feel overwhelmed by maintaining traditions while providing care and adhering to safety precautions. The discussion will offer tips and ideas for safely enjoying time with family and friends during the holidays.
